What is the most important thing when you want to study in Munich?
One of the most important steps for a successful application is to get a visa to be able to study in Munich. In order to get the Student Visa, you need to have proof of your financial resources and put it in a Blocked Account. The amount is around 10,000 Euros and it would highly increase your chances of getting the Visa if you start saving up asap. Other than that, the language proficiency test is very important. You need to take one whether you want to study in English or German in order to be an eligible student.
Can you write to the university in case you do not get accepted?
One way to handle rejection and learn from it is to write the university and maybe ask them to reconsider. This tactic barely works but it is worth the shot, when asking them to reconsider make sure to tell them why. If it doesn’t work, we suggest you talk to your school counselor and look through your application maybe there is room for improvement!
How should you feel in case your university of choice didn’t accept you?
If the university you applied to rejects you, allow yourself to feel disappointed and rest for a few days. It happens to all of us and even though it can be devastating, do not linger on it! Instead, try to improve and try again until you achieve your goals.
Can you attend your undergraduate program immediately if you meet all the requirements?
Meeting all the admission requirements unfortunately doesn’t always mean you can attend the undergraduate program immediately. Due to the high number of students enrolling in Munich, there are restrictions called Numerus Clausus in which students go through a selection process to secure a spot. The same goes for postgraduate programs, but the documents that are generally required by German universities are: certificate of undergraduate studies, transcript of grades, proof of language skills (German or English), proof of financial resources, motivational letter or resume (or both) and application fee.

As an international student coming from a low-income country, it’s important you choose the right place and university for you. Munich is one of the best places to be in as an international student due to the opportunities that it offers, not only for studying but for working as well. It also helps a lot that it’s a beautiful place and the living expenses are rather modest.
Although Munich is one of the best cities for international students, competing for a place can be tough due to the high demand and competitiveness. Always remember that will hard-work and persistence you can secure a spot!
